Tex-Mex Burger

Juicy burger with salsa, avocado, cilantro and onion.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BEEF:
  • 2 pounds 90% Lean Ground Beef
  • 4 Tablespoons Your Favorite Jarred Salsa
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 4 slices Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 4 whole Hamburger Buns, Toasted
  • 4 Tablespoons You Favorite Jarred Salsa
  • 8 slices Red Onion, Thin
  • ¾ cups Cilantro, Chopped
  • 1 whole Avocado, Peeled, Pitted And Thinly Sliced
  • FOR THE BEEF:

  • 8 slices Red Onion, Thin
  • ¾ cups Cilantro, Chopped
  • 1 whole Avocado, Peeled, Pitted And Thinly Sliced

Preparation

1. Preheat broiler. Heat a large frying pan to medium high heat. Make patties: Put the ground beef in a bowl and add salsa and spices. Mix together until spices are evenly distributed. Form the mixture into 4 equal sized patties. Place patties into the hot frying pan and cook for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
2. Flip them over and place 1 slice of cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Meanwhile, get out all toppings and toast buns. Check and if burgers are not done to your liking continue cooking until they are. Once done, remove from heat and let burgers rest for 5 minutes on a clean plate.
3. Assemble burger: Place a patty on the bottom half of a bun. Top with 1/4 each of the salsa, red onion and cilantro. Then spread avocado on the top bun. Add bun to burger and serve with some fresh corn and potato wedges.
