Mom’s Apple Crisp

Description

Sweet soft apples, mildly spiced with cinnamony crisp brown crumbs.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Apples, Peeled, Sliced (I Used Granny Smith Apples)
  • ⅓ cups Water
  • ¾ cups Flour
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter, cut into pieces
  • 5 cups Apples, Peeled, Sliced (I Used Granny Smith Apples)
  • ⅓ cups Water
  • ¾ cups Flour
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 8 Tablespoons Butter, cut into pieces

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Butter or spray with cooking spray a 1½ quart baking dish.

Spread apples in baking dish and pour the water over the apples.

In a bowl, add flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. With your fingers, rub in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Spread mixture over apples.

Bake in oven for 30–40 minutes or until crust is browned. Serve with heavy cream or ice cream.
